Calling the emergency contact number provides a quick and effective way to speak directly to a duty Shipowners’ claims handler in the event of an incident or casualty involving an entered vessel.

During office hours the emergency number will redirect to the relevant corresponding office switchboard.

Alternatively, Members can request assistance from our network of correspondents located around the world.

We are now seeking an experienced Data & Analytics Product Owner to join us on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and a quick learner with a desire to develop in a friendly and supportive insurance company. Overall responsibility of the Role:

Take ownership of the Clubs data platform, overseeing the end-to-end process from source data to presentation, ensuring data integrity, governance, usability, and performance meet business needs.

Manage and prioritise the Data & Analytics (D&A) backlog, collaborating with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement, ensure data accuracy and timeliness, and enhance business insights.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the design of data models through different data domains that can support supports analytical processes and reporting.
  • Responsible for up-to-date technical documentation in and Enterprise Architecture tool.
  • Responsible for prioritising the backlog of work for our Data Lakehouse and BI tool based on business and technically priorities/dependencies.
  • Responsible for presenting solutions to the Technical Design Authority (board of architects).
  • Ensure the data flows are documented and data marts reconciliation from source to reporting layer is certified.
  • Lead and collaborate with a multi-skilled team to deliver against the D&A strategy
  • Be an ambassador for the art of the possible, ensure that structured analytical solutions are scalable and meet the business objectives whether tactical or strategic.
  • Identify and assess internal and external data sources to derive business insights, tactical decision making and hypothesis.
  • Develop fit-for-purpose, resilient, scalable and future-proof data services to meet user needs
  • Implement data flows to connect operational systems, data for analytics and business intelligence (BI) systems
  • Develop Key Performance Indicators and metrics that measure the performance of the data platform.

Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field.
  • Experienced with cloud technologies focusing on Microsoft platform. E.g. Microsoft Azure Synapse Analytics, Google BigQuery, Snowflake, or Microsoft Azure Databricks
  • Proficient in using tools like Python, R, or SQL to automate repetitive tasks, conduct analyses, and develop custom solutions.
  • Exposure to Azure DevOps and CI/CD concepts would be beneficial.
  • Prior experience with data warehousing, modelling and analysis.
  • Good knowledge of data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
